Peak Performance - Mountain Guide Course

Peak Performance – Cross Country Mountain Adventure Guide Course

Learn and practice the skills of teaching cross country skiing and guiding skate ski backcountry tours and light touring with waxless metal-edged skis.

Veteran coach and guide, Scotty McGee (see bio below), will train you to manage clients in a backcountry setting in the breathtaking and wild Togwotee Pass area during this spring cross country skiing adventure guide training course. Using skate, classic and adventure touring gear. Expand your skiing skills and become a more savvy backcountry traveler.

Curriculum includes:

  • Light touring travel, and ultralight speed travel when crust conditions allow
  • Route selection, navigation, and route finding skills to inform your future adventuring
  • Uphill and downhill ski techniques
  • Daily routes will vary in length from 4-15 miles, with skill, fitness, conditions and ambition. We can accommodate more skill levels with more participants, so spread the word and invite your friends!
