2026 Annual Free Ski, Fat Bike & Snowshoe Day

Come on up to Turpin Meadow Ranch from 10 am to 3 pm on Sunday, January 11, 2026.

Celebrate the snow with a day full of great people and fun ways to get out on winter trails.

Join us to appreciate our winter trails, human-powered recreation, community and public lands!

Intro ski lessons and free ski rentals, intermediate clinics, and free ski demos, fat bike and snowshoe rentals. Plus tours, a relay built for anyone and everyone to have fun on snowshoes and snowshoe yoga!

There is a partner courtyard where Nordic Alliance partner organizations and agencies set up booths to tell you about interesting things to do, cool nature facts, and how you can support winter trails, wildlife and public lands through stewardship and contributions. Plus it is all in the amazing meadows and forests of Turpin and the surrounding Bridger-Teton National Forest.

Registration, lesson sign ups, shuttle sign ups, and schedule are being added and updated below the photo gallery. Raffle tickets will be available for sale online in advance again (mid-week the week before) this year as well.

Get out and do your best snow dance every chance you get – looking forward to spending a day at Turpin where winter is already happening!

Participant Waivers Required

Every participant must have a signed waiver BEFORE they enter the venue or step on the trails. Completing the waiver from home makes check in at registration easier and faster for all. Because we print the lists of completed waiver names to facilitate check in, please sign the waiver before 9pm, Saturday, January 10. You are also welcome to sign the waiver upon your arrival, it just takes a little more time.

Getting to Turpin

Address24505 Buffalo Valley Rd, Moran, WY 83013

Phone: (307) 543-2000

The main lodge at Turpin is open for business and you may purchase lunch and beverages throughout the day.

Carpool to the Annual Event

We hope you will come and we hope you will carpool! Carpooling is good for the planet. It also eases the congestion along the road in and out to the ranch. We have more space on winter trails than we do for parking.

Free Shuttle with Teton Science Schools

TSS is supporting the day with two van shuttles. Sign up is required to guarantee a seat. Riders are welcome to bring skis, but no dogs or fat bikes please.

Email hello@jhnordic.com and note “Annual Event Shuttle” in the subject line.

Shuttles will leave the Home Ranch parking lot at 9 am, so please be there and parked close to 8:45 am. The early shuttle will depart Turpin Meadow Ranch at 2pm, followed by the second van at 2:30 pm.
