Description:

Rendezvous Park (R Park) is a skier-tracked or untracked oasis located on the west bank of the Snake River, just across the bike bridge from the more popular groomed Emily's Pond. It offers ponds that attract winter birdlife, including various ducks and swans, as well as hilly mounds ideal for children's sledding. As there is no groomed trail within Rendezvous Park (R Park) itself, it is recommended to use classic cross-country skis or snowshoes. R Park serves as a starting point for skiing to Emily's Pond or heading west under the Hwy 390 tunnel to reach the Stilson Loop and the Wilson Centennial Trail. The Rendezvous Park (R Park) dike on the northwest side of the Snake River provides a quiet experience with minimal visitor traffic and the possibility of spotting moose in the ponds and wetlands.

Parking: A small parking area is available near R Park and additional parking can be found nearby at Stilson. START Bus access is available via the Stilson stop.

Skiing Experience: R Park provides a skier-tracked or untracked experience, suitable for classic cross-country skis or snowshoes.

Directions: The trailhead is 10 yards east of the parking area. For START Bus users, access is available via the Stilson stop. Enjoy the winter birdlife around the ponds, scenic views of the Snake River, and the quiet Rendezvous Park (R Park) dike on the northwest side. For more trail options, explore the interconnected trails leading to Emily's Pond, Stilson Loop, and the Wilson Centennial Trail. Return to the trailhead after exploring the desired circuits or trails.

Winter Grooming: No grooming is done in R Park itself, but the trail is suitable for skiing and fat biking when well compacted. Exercise caution and respect wildlife, especially moose.

Summer Conditions: In summer, Rendezvous Park (R Park) offers a delightful place for a short walk around the ponds, and boardwalks leading to the Snake River, picnics, gatherings, and relaxation under the shade of large trees.

Dog Owners: Rendezvous Park (R Park) now lets you have dogs but on-leash on perimeter of the trails, please practice Leave No Trace and pack out everything with you.

Fat Bikers: Fat biking is permitted when the trail is well-compacted.
