Stealthy Ski Skills

New Nordic skiers learn the sport through fun and games.

A new Nordic program helps cultivate a love for Nordic skiing through a mixture of skills building, play and accessibility. The 8 week program provides ski equipment for all the kids, and creates an affordable way to get kids outside.

Thanks to George and Ramona at 22 Nordic, Cory with Teton County/ Jackson Parks & Recreation Programs,  and JH Ski Club Nordic program for coaching tips, and instructors. This Nordic ski program for our youth was truly a team and community effort.

Trail Creek Nordic

Off to State!
The season has flown by and today most of our high school age racers are off to Cody for the 2020 Wyoming High School Nordic Skiing Championships.  Racing is scheduled for Friday and Saturday but for the championship the team takes an extra day.  Word has it that Pahaska is an amazing place to visit on the east side of Yellowstone and would make a great outing if you were looking for a little mid-winter adventure.

If your mid-winter adventure needs to be closer to home, a Nordic ski at Trail Creek today would be a great option.  11:30 conditions are very light snow fall under a very thin overcast with mostly calm winds and a temperature of -10ºC/14ºF.

Today’s grooming was an initial pass through most major trails with the Pisten Bully.  The woods trails received a new classic track along the way while the fields received best line skate grooming.  The Ginzu did some subsequent passes with the net result being nice classic tracks and skate lanes pretty much everywhere.

Groomer’s choice for today is Cle’s Climb.

We groomed all skate lanes this morning and reset the classic track on our Willow Loops, Riverside Loop, and Summer Homes Loop after some overnight wind blew the track in slightly. All trails groomed very nicely this morning with the slight dusting we got overnight and early morning. We will groom first thing in the morning all week! Come ski or fat bike with us!

**Reminder**
*Our lodge and restaurant will be closed this Saturday Feb. 25 for a private event. All trails will remain open and groomed. We will have full lunch service Friday and Sunday.*

Grooming Today
Update: 2/22

Skier Update: Trail is ‘ groomed’ – not perfectly smooth corduroy, more “flattened and rolled”. Occasionally, there is a classic cross-country track, sometimes not. Certainly a nice hour and bit around the golf course with great views, a fun place to ski if you are looking for a new flat, groomed trail to try out.

Groomed with classic track on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Clear skies have prevailed! Sometimes we get a little break in snowfall right
about now, where Mother Nature decides to feed us that vitamin D that we’ve all been missing, and reminds us that spring is not too far off.

Cross Country/Fat Bike 15k: XC OPEN (Last groomed 2/25/2020), Fat Bike OPEN.

Fat Bike 2/13: All Lower Kelly Park is groomed with a great riding base. Should be perfect conditions for the next 3-5 days due to high pressure system. For more information contact Geared Up, 307-399-5539 c.307-760-1912, www.gearedupbikes.com
